My God Will Hear

But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)

This is one of my “lifeline” scriptures. When I pray, God will never ignore me. I’m guaranteed of that, by this verse and many others like it, and I depend upon the truth they speak.

On top of that, I can be confident that He will do whatever I truly need in reply to my cry for help.

In the Hebrew culture of biblical times, to hear was to answer. Psalm 65:2 even used that principle as a title for God: You who answer prayer, to you all people will come.

I can also depend on God to do what I need most, when I need it most. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. (Psalm 25:10 NIV) When I cry for help in a desperate situation, I can trust that my loving Father will either rescue me, or that He is doing what I need for my spiritual development and maturity. Nothing can get through His hedge of protection around me unless He allows it for my refining. My God will hear me.

Hear the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. (1 Kings 8:30)

Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:2) The Psalmist David could wait expectantly because he knew…My God will hear me.

The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will answer my prayer. (Psalm 6:9)

I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. (Psalm 17:6)

You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry. (Psalm 10:17)

Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands…(Psalm 28:2)

Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy…(Psalm 86:1)

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. (Isaiah 65:24)

My God will hear me.
